What do your arguments stem from? What gets your nickers in a knot?
I gave my students a question and answer poll about this topic last week. What's the root cause of your arguments? Is it:
80% of my students said, "Frustration" and 20% said "Selfishness".
Have you every found yourself in an argument and wonder what was the root cause. Did you see it coming because you knew the right buttons to push.
How many arguments have you gotten into and wished you could have rewound them to avoid or prevented the outcome.
If frustration is a root cause of your arguments, have you taken an assessment of the root cause of your frustration? Here's an example of a reaction from frustration that lead to an impact that reverberates to this day.
Abraham, Sarah and Hagar changed history forever and impacted lives for generations to come. Sarah was frustrated because she couldn't have a son. She asked Hagar her slave to conceive for her. Abraham who I'm sure got hammered over many arguments with Sarah about having a child. As a result, he finally gave into her (because he "love-did" her). Then Hagar becomes pregnant by Abraham and decides to flee because she's frustrated with the way she is bing treated by Sarah during her pregnancy. To make a long story short, frustration was the root cause of an argument that impacted lives for generations. You can read all about this epic saga in Gen 16
