Living Life Divinely!

SS: No, this is what I believe. From being an artist and a minister of the Gospel, I believe that God doesn’t want to change your personality, but your lifestyle. And also, I believe that the music itself didn’t call me, but God did. It’s not like God himself gave me a long list of things I had to add or take away. He simply gave me instructions and it was on me to follow them and be obedient. It’s no different from Simon Peter, when Jesus told him to “follow me and leave everything else behind”. I couldn’t worry about friends, family, what I knew or didn’t know; I wasn’t even seeking music or ministry. I was your average everyday hardworking person with 0 to minor experiences about music itself. I strongly believe that everyone knows their own story and lifestyle and that for everyone that does music or just listen to music, your story and lifestyle should be different. Everybody that raps Gospel doesn’t have the same story of “from gangsta to gospel”, and everybody that sings doesn’t always have the story of “from sexy to sanctified”. Only you and the Lord himself know your real personality and current lifestyle. Just because you rap/sing/dance, or whatever you may do, doesn’t mean you have to be put in a certain title, stereotype, etc. All those views come from the world. Your inspiration should come from everyday life, and if you choose to sin, then that’s a personal decision that you’ve made. In conclusion, your lifestyle should speak louder than your music, and you should be able to enjoy any music. But understand that one’s daily decisions are what really influence one’s individual lifestyle.
LITE: No, this is what I believe. Being an artist and a minister of the Gospel, the music I create first reflects the Word of God. And then, the lifestyle I’m living. I believe that our music has to reflect our daily lives and the experiences we go through. Just because we rap/sing, we do not label ourselves as a rapper/singer. We are still ordinary people, but God chose us to use music as a tool to spread His Word. So we did not seek to be artists. Like SS said, God wants to change your lifestyle, not personality. Tying that into music, our lifestyle is showing that we have been transformed from our old ways of living to the new way. So as we speak our new way of living into our music, we aim to help others come to repentance of their sinful ways of life to a new, fresh, and different lifestyle. YOU will actually influence YOUR music. It’s still your personal choice of how you live. No matter what music you listen to or create. Only music is a part of your current lifestyle. 1 Corinthians 7:17
