It is bad enough that world accepts that "blacks" have a seperate version of english. It is worse when christians accept it as well. Now I am not talking about shunning the lost away because they can't speak proper english. I am talking about not correcting or assisting in doing better. When it comes to raising children it seems in "black" communities that speaking bad english is encouraged and is thought to be humorous. Computer is now compruta. Street is now skreet... etc. Proverbs 26 talks a great deal about the lifestyle of a fool. I can admit I watched many "black" comedies and spoofs and thought it was funny myself when it came to stereotypes placed on blacks. I was asked a question why I have a disdain for blaxploitation ie Tyler Perry tragedies but let black spoofs slide when they have similiar stereotypes. I had to do a long self examination and couldnt answer that question. I received conviction instead. Why do I support speaking ignorantly? When you know how to say a word properly yet you dont because you feel its cute or looks or sounds cooler to say it badly or incorrect. There are many things I am still evaluating on myself that need to change as far as vocabulary.
Christians need to stop promoting speaking badly and encourage change, encourage excellence, encourage.......
